Funded traineeship for young graduates in El Salvador

About the role

This funded traineeship offers young graduates the chance to work within the Political, Press & Information Section of the EU Delegation in El Salvador, supporting public diplomacy and digital communication initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support communication and public diplomacy activities, aiming to increase EU visibility through creative storytelling.
• Create engaging digital content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter) to boost audience engagement.
• Produce high‑quality photo and video coverage of meetings, field visits, cultural events and conferences.
• Assist in planning, organising and promoting public diplomacy events such as festivals, exhibitions, Europe Month and Europe Day.
• Develop innovative formats (interviews, podcasts, interactive content) to reach younger audiences.
• Draft communication materials, social media captions, newsletters and press releases.
• Support media relations and partnerships with universities, NGOs, cultural and private‑sector stakeholders.
• Monitor social media trends and metrics, proposing new initiatives to improve the Delegation’s online presence.

Required profile

• University degree in communications, journalism, audiovisual production, marketing, graphic design, public relations, international relations or a related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Strong interest in digital communication, public diplomacy, storytelling and social media strategy.
• Creative, proactive attitude with the ability to generate original ideas quickly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter).
• Photography and video production for official events and public activities.
• Content creation for digital channels, including captions, newsletters and promotional texts.
