Sourcing Lead - Resource Planning and Staffing

About the role

The Sourcing Lead owns resource planning and staffing for customer engagements across multiple practice areas. Working closely with sales and delivery teams, you ensure projects are staffed with the right skills at the right time, while keeping team utilization healthy and operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Match available consultants and engineers to presales and billable projects based on skills, experience and availability.
• Review project documents (SOWs, staffing plans, work breakdown structures) to confirm team composition, levels and billing rates.
• Triage incoming staffing requests and route them to the appropriate practice teams.
• Hold regular pipeline reviews with practice leads, delivery managers and staffing leads.
• Analyze capacity and demand forecasts to spot skills gaps early and recommend solutions.
• Source additional capacity when internal teams are stretched, using offshore delivery centers, partners or contractors and cross-regional pools.
• Track utilization and balance workloads to optimize billable delivery while avoiding burnout.
• Maintain operational hygiene: timecard compliance, correct project manager assignments and timely handling of assignment extension requests.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage a high-volume staffing queue, multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience across sales, engineering and delivery teams.
• Strong analytical skills for schedules, utilization metrics and project budgets.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including resolving staffing conflicts and finding creative sourcing options.
• Preferred: experience in IT consulting, professional services resource management or partner/contractor management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with collaboration tools and ERP or resource management systems.
• Preferred: Salesforce, PMP or Agile/Scrum certification, Google Cloud Digital Leader or equivalent.
