About the role

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a General Accountant to join its Finance and Administration unit in El Salvador. The role supports the financial management of the local project, ensuring transparent and efficient use of resources that fund IJM’s anti‑violence programs.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments, maintain accurate accounting records and perform month‑end and year‑end closures.
• Prepare financial packages and statutory financial statements in accordance with local regulations.
• Manage payroll, benefits and related tax filings.
• Support the Finance Management team with tax schedules and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure all transactions are properly documented and recorded in QuickBooks.
• Collaborate with other finance staff to guarantee timely and compliant financial operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting.
• Minimum three years of recent accounting experience, including payroll, benefits and tax compliance.
• Preferably registered with the Council of Oversight of the Accounting Profession.
• Demonstrated technical excellence, integrity and commitment to social impact.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software.
