Contador General – Operaciones Retail

About the role

We are seeking a General Accountant to lead the accounting function for a high‑volume retail business with multiple branches in San Salvador Oeste. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all financial information, maintaining tax compliance, and providing timely reports to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations across all store locations.
• Ensure proper recording of transactions, reconciliations, fixed‑asset accounting and inventory management.
• Prepare, review and present financial statements in accordance with local regulations.
• Manage tax filings and guarantee compliance with fiscal obligations.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
• Lead, coach and develop the accounting team.

Required profile

• Degree in Public Accounting with a current professional license.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in retail environments with high transaction volumes.
• Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Strong understanding of tax regulations, financial reporting and internal controls.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP accounting systems.
