Lead IP Paralegal and Manager

About the role

Teak IP Services is opening its first office in El Salvador and needs a Head IP Paralegal to launch and run the new location. The role combines senior paralegal work on patents and trademarks with leadership of a growing team and the establishment of local processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations of the El Salvador office.
• Handle complex patent and trademark filings, docketing, and prosecution support.
• Act as the primary liaison between the El Salvador office and Teak IP Services’ global leadership.
• Recruit, train, and mentor paralegal staff as the team expands.
• Ensure compliance with USPTO, WIPO and other international filing requirements and deadlines.
• Manage client communications and guarantee timely, high‑quality deliverables.
• Develop and implement local workflows, systems and best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a patent or trademark paralegal.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) for coordination with U.S. and international teams.
• Strong knowledge of IP filing procedures, docketing systems and prosecution timelines.
• Prior leadership, supervisory or mentorship experience preferred.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently in a start‑up environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred (not mandatory).
