MES Administrator

About the role

The MES Administrator is a senior technical authority responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing Execution System ecosystem across Gildan’s Manufacturing Division, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability while aligning with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce MES architecture standards, policies, and best practices.
• Develop long‑term strategies for MES scalability, integration, and modernization.
• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of MES hardware and software, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies for MES enhancement.
• Guarantee SLA compliance, monitor system health, and implement proactive performance measures.
• Serve as escalation point for MES incidents and complex technical issues.
• Mentor MES/Helpdesk Engineers and provide advanced technical guidance.
• Lead testing and deployment of new MES technologies and drive automation initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in System Administration, including work with textile applications and industrial networks.
• Proven ability to resolve real‑time manufacturing disruptions and troubleshoot integration issues across ERP, PLC, SCADA and other systems.
• Comfortable making high‑stakes decisions during unplanned outages.
• Experience mentoring technical staff and acting as a cross‑functional liaison.
