Project Director – Child Development, Care & Protection

About the role

The Project Director will lead CRS’s multi-country child development, care and protection initiative in El Salvador. Reporting to the Head of Programs, the role is responsible for delivering high-quality programming that strengthens child protection systems, supports families and advances early childhood health and development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the project, ensuring alignment with CRS strategic objectives.
• Oversee implementation of activities that strengthen national child protection mechanisms and improve early childhood outcomes.
• Manage donor compliance, reporting, budgeting and financial controls.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local NGOs, government agencies, faith‑based groups and private sector stakeholders.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a results‑oriented and collaborative work environment.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing large‑scale humanitarian or development programs, preferably in child protection or early childhood sectors.
• Proven ability to work in multi‑country contexts and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong understanding of donor regulations and compliance requirements.
