Sales Consultant – Small Business Solutions

About the role

The Sales Consultant will work with existing small‑business clients who already use our solutions. Through inbound calls, chats, and scheduled appointments, you will conduct consultative conversations to understand their operations and recommend the optimal product suite that saves time, reduces costs, or provides peace of mind.

Key responsibilities

• Receive warm hand‑offs from Customer Success and handle inbound phone, chat, and scheduled meetings with SMB customers.
• Conduct deep, consultative discovery of accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, payments, and bill‑pay processes.
• Translate discovery insights into clear, outcome‑based recommendations (time saved, cost saved, peace of mind).
• Guide desktop users toward appropriate cloud offerings and help cloud users select the right plan and ecosystem add‑ons.
• Position the broader ecosystem (payroll, payments, bill‑pay, expert services) as part of the solution.
• Meet targets for unit sales, revenue per interaction, and ecosystem attach rate while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Accurately record referral source, conversation outcome, and attach data in the CRM system.
• Participate in regular coaching and call‑calibration sessions focused on consultative discovery and solution fit.

Required profile

• 2+ years of consultative sales experience (phone and chat), preferably serving small‑business customers.
• Strong business acumen and ability to hold credible conversations with owners about operational efficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Excellent discovery, objection‑handling, and relationship‑building abilities.
• Comfortable working in a metrics‑driven environment (units, revenue per interaction, attach rate).
