About the role

As a Staff member in the External Audit team at BDO, you will work full‑time on‑site in Merliot, La Libertad. You will take part in planning and executing financial statement audits for clients across various industries, reviewing accounting documentation, performing control and substantive testing, and helping to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of external financial audits.
• Review accounting and financial records, perform control and substantive tests.
• Identify audit risks and suggest process improvements for clients.
• Prepare audit workpapers and contribute to audit report drafting.
• Communicate findings clearly to the audit team and client contacts.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial statements and detect inconsistencies.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines, collaborate in a team, and maintain professional communication.
• Intermediate level of English (written and spoken) is valued.
• Proactive attitude, attention to detail, professional ethics and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel).
• Experience using accounting software.
• Familiarity with audit management platforms.
