Supervisor – Sales and Use Tax Automation

About the role

RSM is seeking a seasoned Sales and Use Tax Automation Supervisor to lead its State and Local Transaction Tax Automation practice. The role involves driving new business, managing client projects, and ensuring successful implementation of tax technology platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage internal and client relationships to generate new tax automation projects.
• Oversee daily project tasks, work plans, and deliverables for each client.
• Lead project management activities, coordinating staff, resources, budgets, and timelines.
• Define implementation requirements, create process maps, system design documentation, and user‑acceptance testing materials.
• Produce training materials and support strategic sales of add‑on services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Computer Science.
• Minimum four years of experience with large ERP systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain CPA, EA or similar designation (preferred).
• Experience implementing tax automation technology solutions.

Required skills

• Tax automation platforms: Avalara, Thomson Reuters OneSource, Vertex.
• ERP systems: Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite.
• Technical knowledge of tax automation integration with ERP.
• Project budgeting and resource coordination.
