Bilingual Medical Scheduler & Administrative Specialist (Digestive Health)

About the role

We are looking for an organized, dependable bilingual (English‑Spanish) Virtual Medical Assistant to support our digestive health practice. The role involves managing the full cycle of procedure scheduling, patient preparation, and clinical coordination across hospitals, surgery centers and imaging facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and maintain procedure and clinic schedules to maximize provider availability and facility capacity, filling open slots and meeting daily targets.
• Coordinate pre‑procedure requirements, medical clearances and provide patients with detailed preparation instructions, including fasting, medication and transportation.
• Manage patient check‑out workflows, gather outside medical records, process referrals, and coordinate laboratory and imaging orders.
• Complete prior authorizations with insurers and communicate with patients, providers, hospitals, pharmacies and external offices.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant or Administrative Assistant in a U.S. specialty practice.
• Proven success coordinating complex procedures from booking through completion.
• Full bilingual fluency in English and Spanish with professional verbal and written communication.
• Strong understanding of prior authorizations, medical clearances, referral tracking and diagnostic/lab order handling.

What we offer

• Full‑time contractor position (40 hours/week) with a starting rate of $6 per hour, dependent on skillset and experience.
• Standard schedule: Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5 pm PST, remote work.
