Compliance Officer – Digital Assets (El Salvador)

About the role

Estoy, a fast‑growing crypto‑focused company operating across Latin America, is looking for a Compliance Officer based in El Salvador. The role will ensure the business meets all local digital‑asset and financial regulations while acting as the primary liaison with regulators and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the local compliance framework in line with El Salvador’s laws, including LEAD and LCLDA.
• Implement, monitor, and improve KYC, transaction‑monitoring and sanctions‑screening procedures.
• Serve as the point of contact for CNAD, UIF and SSF, as well as auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports such as ROS/SARs to UIF and periodic filings to CNAD and SSF.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and support internal and external audits, including PSAD‑license requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their impact to products and processes.
• Support investigations of suspicious activity and ensure proper escalation.
• Deliver compliance training and maintain up‑to‑date documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
• 2–4+ years of experience as a Compliance Officer or in an AML/regulatory compliance role within banking, payments, fintech, digital‑asset or crypto services.
• Strong knowledge of El Salvador’s regulatory framework and ability to work in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
