Data Engineer – Build Scalable Data Solutions

About the role

AMP is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimise the data infrastructure that powers our aviation MRO business operations, analytics, and AI initiatives. You will work with cross‑functional teams to integrate multiple data sources, improve data quality, and enable advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines integrating internal and external data sources.
• Manage and optimise Microsoft SQL Server databases, including query tuning, stored procedures and performance monitoring.
• Build and maintain data lakes, lakehouses and integration solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure services.
• Implement data models and warehouse structures to support reporting, dashboards and AI/ML workloads.
• Monitor pipeline health, ensure data quality, governance and security, and automate repetitive processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on data engineering or database development experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft SQL Server (T‑SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
• ETL/ELT pipeline design and implementation
• Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouses, integration)
• Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud data platforms
• Data modelling, data warehousing and modern data architecture
• Python programming
