Excel Specialist (Remote Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Excel Specialist to work remotely on a contract basis. You will design realistic business scenarios and evaluate AI-generated Office documents, helping improve large language model performance across multiple industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design and simulate challenging business scenarios using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, reflecting real-world professional tasks.
• Engage in structured, multi-turn conversations with a large language model, presenting complex prompts and reviewing AI-generated deliverables.
• Create, edit, and assess .xlsx.docx, and .pptx files, comparing two AI-generated solutions against professional standards.
• Document detailed feedback and side-by-side preference data to guide AI model improvements.
• Provide domain-specific insights across various industries and business functions to ensure diverse, realistic use cases.
• Communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats for the AI training team.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of professional experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word in Fortune 500 environments.
• Proven ability to build complex models, reports, analyses, and presentations in finance, healthcare, technology, consulting, or retail.
• Background in roles such as private-equity associate, investment‑banking analyst, junior consultant, FP&A analyst, HR, or marketing strategist.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to evaluate nuanced document quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience interacting with large language models or crafting long-form AI prompts is a strong plus.
