Finance Operations Assistant

About the role

The Finance Operations Assistant supports daily financial operations, including posting transactions to the general ledger, reconciling accounts, processing payments, and preparing reports. The role serves North American and European operations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls while collaborating with internal teams, banking partners, vendors, and international stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review and reconcile daily general ledger accounts related to debit payment activity and investigate reconciling items.
• Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, investigate banking adjustments, deposit discrepancies, returned items, ATM variances, and other exceptions.
• Coordinate with banking partners on adjustments, outstanding items, and operational inquiries.
• Collect, review, and process ACH returns; create, validate, and transmit daily ACH files.
• Process daily transactions supporting check‑cashing activities and ensure secure transmission of financial information.
• Verify direct‑deposit agent payments, apply payments from collections and other departments, and reconcile accounts receivable balances to the general ledger.
• Maintain supporting documentation for financial postings and analyze account variances.
• Assist with month‑end activities, reporting requirements, and participate in special projects, process‑improvement, and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures and accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
