GitHub Contributor – Remote

About the role

We are seeking an experienced software contributor to provide high‑quality code samples, debugging strategies, and development insights for a variety of open‑source projects on GitHub. This fully remote contract position allows you to work with diverse codebases and collaborate with a global community of developers.

Key responsibilities

• Produce expert‑level code examples and debugging techniques in Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++ or TypeScript.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects and performance bottlenecks.
• Design and implement robust new features with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
• Refactor and optimise legacy code to improve clarity, efficiency and long‑term reliability.
• Document technical reasoning, solution approaches and code decisions to enhance AI training data quality.
• Review and validate peer‑contributed code and technical submissions for accuracy and clarity.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on expertise in at least one of the listed programming languages.
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures and core software engineering principles.
• Proven ability to debug complex systems, resolve bugs and deliver effective optimisations.
• Experience modernising large codebases and refactoring legacy systems.
• Track record of delivering high‑impact features from conception through delivery in cross‑functional projects.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Interest in AI technical challenges (previous AI experience not required).
