Mercaderista – Trade Marketing y Merchandising

About the role

The Mercaderista will promote company products across various distribution channels by conducting tastings, free samples, special promotions and explaining product benefits. Working directly with customers at points of sale, the role aims to increase product visibility, influence purchase decisions and strengthen brand positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend products to customers, explaining features, benefits, storage, packaging and contraindications.
• Execute merchandising activities in stores to stimulate sales and enhance brand presence.
• Carry out product demonstrations, tastings and free samples using persuasive dialogue and brand scripts.
• Manage promotional materials, sampling equipment and maintain a professional appearance.
• Conduct surveys, acceptance tests and internal marketing activities as required by the marketing manager.
• Travel between retail locations, sometimes across cities, maintaining constant direct contact with clients.
• Adhere to the scheduled working hours: Tuesday‑Saturday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm, Sunday 8:00 am‑12:00 pm.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in similar customer‑facing or merchandising roles.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
