Policy Lead

About the role

The Policy Lead will define, develop and coordinate the implementation of corporate credit policies across Grupo Unicomer’s retail operations in multiple Latin American, Caribbean and US markets. Reporting to senior credit governance, the role ensures alignment with Unicomer’s global standards while adapting to local market requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and regularly update corporate credit policies for retail operations in each country, ensuring consistency with global standards and business strategy.
• Manage the full lifecycle of credit risk policies, including version control, approvals, effective dates, periodic reviews, exceptions and change traceability.
• Translate policy guidelines into functional requirements and decision criteria, coordinating implementation and validation with relevant business units.
• Monitor compliance of credit policies and processes with local legal and regulatory frameworks, mitigating non‑compliance risk.
• Coordinate rollout of corporate credit policies across country units to guarantee consistent and standardized application.
• Analyze policy performance using key indicators, identify improvement opportunities and support policy adjustments.
• Drive standardization initiatives and best‑practice sharing across the organization to enhance credit decision making.
• Document and manage policy exceptions, overseeing remediation plans when a market cannot immediately adopt the global standard.

Required profile

• Proven experience in developing, managing, implementing or governing corporate credit policies.
• Strong understanding of credit risk management within retail environments.
• Ability to work across multiple countries and adapt policies to diverse regulatory contexts.
• Excellent analytical skills and experience with policy performance measurement.
• Effective communication and coordination skills with cross‑functional teams.
