Senior QA Analyst (Data & ETL) - Remote

About the role

Praxent, a team of 200+ professionals helping financial services clients modernize customer-facing software, is hiring a remote Senior QA Analyst focused on data and ETL. The role is open to candidates living in Mexico, Colombia or El Salvador. It sits between a data analyst and a QA tester: strong SQL is needed alongside solid QA discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Perform automated and API testing for complex applications, locate and document edge cases, and assess risks to propose changes to acceptance criteria
• Expand expertise in automation, API testing or accessibility testing frameworks
• Document plans for anticipated risks and blockers, share best practices, and mentor junior team members
• Act as technical SME in the sprint, prioritizing testing and improving acceptance criteria
• Take part in sprint planning, delegate technical work and keep in sync with delivery leads on priorities, allocation and risks
• Conduct recruiting interviews and evaluate candidates
• Present testing plans, metrics and insights in sprint reviews and propose improvements to clients

Required profile

• 5-8 years of professional experience in relevant technology and projects, including automated testing for web and mobile apps
• Experience presenting to client stakeholders and articulating business outcomes
• Experience coaching and mentoring, shown through collaboration and code reviews
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience

Required skills

• Hands-on SQL: fluent writing of complex T-SQL queries to validate data
• ETL and data warehouse testing, including source-to-target validation against specs and mapping documents
• Test cases, test plans, positive/negative testing, performance and load testing
• Testing SSRS and Power BI output against SQL queries
• Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS and Power BI; Azure data sources, SSAS cubes and version control are a bonus
