Accounting & Operations Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting & Operations Specialist to support the financial and back‑office functions of a multifamily property portfolio. The role is fully remote and focuses on maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, and assisting resident service processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all multifamily assets, matching transactions against statements and resolving discrepancies.
• Conduct balance‑sheet account reconciliations, reviewing schedules and verifying accuracy.
• Monitor real‑time cash positions across assets, flagging shortfalls or irregularities.
• Manage the accounts‑payable inbox, responding to vendor inquiries and escalating outstanding items.
• Oversee utility billing, coordinate service turn‑ons/transfers, and ensure utilities are correctly assigned to residents.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in property management, accounting, or related administrative roles.
• Familiarity with property management systems such as Yardi, AppFolio, or RealPage.
• Understanding of financial processes including bank reconciliation and invoice coding.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and communication skills.
• Comfortable using remote work tools (Dropbox, Excel, Gmail, online certified‑mail platforms).
