Accounts Payable Supervisor (Remote LATAM)

About the role

The Accounts Payable Supervisor leads the day‑to‑day AP function, supervising an AP clerk while staying hands‑on with invoice processing, vendor compliance, and month‑end activities. This remote, full‑time contractor role supports a clean, on‑time close and works closely with AR, GL, payroll, purchasing and compliance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the AP team, setting clear expectations and accountability.
• Evaluate and improve AP workflows for efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
• Perform two‑ and three‑way matching, resolve price, quantity, tax and receipt discrepancies before posting.
• Reconcile agency credit‑card transactions, vendor statements and AP sub‑ledger to the GL control account.
• Execute ACH, wire and card payments with proper segregation‑of‑duties and fraud‑prevention controls.
• Maintain vendor master data, collect and validate W‑9 forms, and ensure correct 1099 classification and filing.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 + years AP experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of the full AP cycle, US GAAP, accrual accounting and vendor management.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills and ability to work independently.
