Base Maintenance Material Controller

About the role

The Base Maintenance Material Controller supports heavy maintenance and modification activities by ensuring timely delivery of pre‑draw and in‑check materials. The role acts as the on‑site material representative, coordinating with suppliers, OSVs and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Action requests in United’s material ordering system (TOCS/Partselerate) to guarantee on‑time delivery and update material entries.
• Fulfill planned material requirements for scheduled workload at outside vendor locations (OSV) or internal bases.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Production Controllers and Quality representatives to identify material needs and source the best options.
• Initiate part number set‑up in United’s ERP (Sceptre), create purchase orders, and manage receipt, payment and finalization.
• Coordinate courier services, track shipments, and handle claims for lost or damaged items.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience in aviation management, supply chain, procurement or related fields.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken) and legally authorized to work in El Salvador without sponsorship.
• Minimum 2 years experience as an AOG or Base Logistics Controller.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using United’s material ordering systems TOCS and Partselerate.
• Knowledge of ERP Sceptre for part number set‑up and purchase order creation.
• Understanding of aviation manuals such as General Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalog, IATA Dangerous Goods Manual, Service Bulletins and Engineering Change Requests.
