About the role

The Instituto RETOS is looking for a General Accountant to manage the institution’s full accounting cycle. You will ensure accurate financial records, support tax compliance, and provide insightful cost analyses to aid strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain accounting books.
• Perform bank reconciliations and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Analyze costs, generate management reports, and support budgeting processes.
• Handle tax planning, filing, and compliance with current fiscal regulations.
• Maintain cost‑center accounting and track funding sources.
• Collaborate with other departments to guarantee precise and up‑to‑date financial information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a current professional license; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Previous experience as a General Accountant or in a similar senior accounting role.
• Familiarity with finance and business administration, preferably in higher‑education institutions.
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and high ethical standards.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
• Experience with accounting software for journal entry, ledger management, and reporting.
