Contralor – Responsable de Contabilidad y Finanzas

About the role

The company is seeking a Contralor to lead its accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The role combines supervisory responsibilities with hands‑on preparation of tax filings, budgets, and financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the accounting team, guaranteeing punctual delivery of financial reports.
• Prepare and file federal, state, and municipal tax declarations.
• Develop, analyze, and present financial statements in accordance with IFRS/NIIF and local accounting standards.
• Create, monitor, and adjust annual and monthly budgets for each business area.
• Participate in external, fiscal, and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Review and approve journal entries, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
• Design and execute an annual action plan for the accounting department, updating it as needed.

Required profile

• Degree in Public Accounting or Finance, with a valid professional license.
• Minimum three years of experience as a General Accountant or in a similar senior accounting role.
• Experience in freight forwarding, cargo agencies, or related logistics sectors is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations, IFRS/NIIF, NIC, and financial statement preparation.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems, work under pressure, and lead teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a results‑oriented mindset.
