Deputy Compliance Officer & MLRO (El Salvador)

About the role

DA Labs, a digital assets business based in El Salvador and licensed as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP), is looking for a Deputy Compliance Officer & MLRO. As the designated Alternate Compliance Officer under CNAD regulations, you report to the Head of Compliance & MLRO and support the day-to-day management of the AML/CFT/CPF programme, regulatory obligations under El Salvadoran law and DASP licence requirements. The role is regulatory-facing, accountable to CNAD, and open to candidates based in El Salvador.

Key responsibilities

• Support the AML/CFT/CPF programme, including periodic risk assessments, transaction monitoring, record-keeping and escalation of suspicious activity, and prepare and file STRs with CNAD confidentially.
• Act as an alternate regulatory point of contact for CNAD and other supervisory authorities, monitor regulatory developments and support the Head of Compliance in examinations and inquiries.
• Prepare AML/CFT reports, take part in risk and compliance committees and maintain compliance records for at least 15 years.
• Oversee transaction monitoring alerts, investigate suspicious activity and make filing determinations.
• Support AML/CFT training and foster a culture of compliance.
• Support KYC/CDD/EDD onboarding, review third-party vendors and collaborate with the Wirex Global Risk & Compliance team.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in AML/CFT/CPF compliance, financial crime prevention or regulatory compliance in fintech, digital assets, financial services or a regulated industry.
• University degree in Law, Finance, Business, Compliance or a related discipline.
• Professional AML/CFT certification (ACAMS or FIBA); CAMS-FCI or equivalent acceptable.
• Native or fluent Spanish (written and spoken) is essential; English is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Thorough understanding of digital asset or payments businesses.
• Familiarity with CNAD regulations and El Salvador's digital asset regulatory framework.
• Professional AML/CFT certification (ACAMS or FIBA).

The position is part-time (minimum 20 hours per week), with full-time also available, and is remote within El Salvador with availability for in-person regulatory meetings. Employment is with DA Labs, S.A.S. de C.V., and pre-employment screening and background checks are mandatory.
