Digital Transformation & AI Consultant (LAC)

About the role

IDB Invest is seeking a Digital Transformation and AI Consultant to help its clients across Latin America and the Caribbean improve operational efficiency through AI‑enabled solutions. The consultant will join the Digital Transformation Unit and work on advisory engagements for a wide range of sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current business processes, technology maturity, data quality and automation potential to identify AI use cases.
• Design high‑impact pilots, implementation roadmaps and vendor packages for AI agents, generative AI, RPA, retrieval‑augmented generation and workflow orchestration.
• Translate operational pain points into investment opportunities and technical assistance projects.
• Engage with CFOs, COOs, compliance, cybersecurity and development impact teams to align AI solutions with ROI, risk controls and impact goals.
• Support client‑facing engagements across sectors such as financial institutions, corporates, agribusiness, manufacturing, retail, insurance, telecommunications, infrastructure and energy.

Required profile

• Hybrid background combining business transformation experience with strong technical fluency in AI and automation.
• Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders and discussing solution architecture, financial logic and risk governance.
• Commitment to responsible AI practices and disciplined project execution.
