About the role

The Occupational Safety and Health Specialist will design, implement, audit, and maintain the company's Safety and Health Management System, ensuring compliance with Salvadoran regulations and international standards such as ISO 45001. The role focuses on risk identification, mitigation, accident prevention, and fostering a culture of prevention and well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and monitor the Occupational Risk Prevention Management Program.
• Design and update safety policies, procedures, manuals, and standards.
• Create and keep the IPERC matrix up to date.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and investigations of workplace accidents and incidents.
• Coordinate emergency plans, brigades, training sessions, and drills.
• Manage notifications and requirements to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MTPS) and the Social Security Institute (ISSS).
• Verify safety compliance of suppliers and contractors.
• Select, distribute, and train personnel on personal protective equipment.
• Define and consolidate indicators for accident rates, absenteeism, and compliance.
• Prepare executive reports and present results to senior management.

Required profile

• Current accreditation as a technician or expert in Occupational Safety and Health from MTPS, or willingness to obtain it.
• Specialization or master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, ergonomics, or management systems auditing.
• Experience managing safety and health programs across multiple sites or projects.
• Intermediate English for reading standards and regulations.

Required skills

• ISO 45001 internal auditor certification.
• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI.
• Intermediate English reading proficiency.
