Finance Director (Contractor, Remote Latin America)

About the role

An AI transformation agency is looking for a Finance Director to build its finance and accounting practice from the ground up. The agency helps growing companies rebuild their operations with AI agents and automation, and its founder comes from a private equity background. The role is full-time, 100% remote from Latin America, paid in USD, with a start date of at least November 1, 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver bookkeeping, accounting and FP&A to multiple clients, doing the work directly at first
• Manage daily bookkeeping, reconciliations, payables, receivables, payroll coordination and month-end close
• Set clear workflows, review steps and controls, and use QuickBooks as the primary accounting system
• Connect revenue, cost and operational data to KPI dashboards and forecasts, including weekly 13- or 26-week cash forecasts
• Build rolling 12- to 24-month forecasts and management reports linking accounting actuals to operating KPIs
• Set up payables and receivables processes with owners, approval steps, payment calendars and escalation paths
• Work with the operations engineer to map, automate and test finance workflows while keeping audit trails and controls
• Design an operating model that works for one client now and three or four later

Required profile

• Has managed an accounting department, team or finance function and can also do the work themselves
• Strong FP&A skills: cash and rolling forecasts, budgets, variance analysis and management reports
• Significant hands-on experience with QuickBooks; NetSuite and Sage are a plus
• Understands reconciliations, close quality and controls, and reviews work from others and from automation
• Has built a tool, workflow or prototype using an AI coding or cowork tool on their own initiative
• Can build structure from an incomplete starting point and adapts to each client's constraints
• Writes English well and speaks it conversationally on Zoom and client calls
