Financial Consulting Associate – Finance as a Service

About the role

RSM’s Finance as a Service (FaaS) practice is seeking an Associate to support private, lower‑middle‑market clients with accounting, technology, and consulting services. You will work on month‑end close, financial reporting, audit support, and budgeting activities while gaining exposure to senior client leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for clients on Purchase‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, and month‑end close cycles.
• Lead, manage, and coach client service representatives and junior associates.
• Review and post monthly journal entries for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued expenses, payroll, and inventory.
• Process transactions, reconcile accounts, and support year‑end audit activities.
• Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting using cloud‑based technology.

• Professional presentation and strong communication abilities for extensive client interaction.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (tables, formulas, pivot tables).
• Experience with cloud‑based accounting technology platforms.
• Familiarity with emerging tools such as OCR, AI, and accounting bots.
