Fraud Risk Analyst I – ELS

About the role

The Fraud Risk Analyst I – ELS joins Blackhawk Network’s risk team to manually review customer orders and transactions flagged by automated systems. The role balances protecting company assets with delivering a positive experience for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed manual reviews of orders and cases in the OPT review queues.
• Analyze order data, including customer, payment, device, IP address, email, delivery and transaction history.
• Verify customer and payment information using internal systems and approved external resources.
• Identify suspicious patterns, anomalies, velocity issues, mismatched information and other fraud indicators.
• Make approval, decline or escalation decisions according to current policies and risk guidelines.
• Document review results, decision rationale and findings clearly.
• Escalate complex or high‑risk cases to Team Leads, Risk Managers or specialized support teams.
• Support order appeals, brand escalations and other manual‑review activities as assigned.
• Provide feedback on emerging fraud trends and suggest improvements to rules, workflows and risk strategies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in fraud prevention, risk operations, e‑commerce, customer service, payments or transaction review preferred.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to use multiple systems, databases and online resources simultaneously.
• Capability to make objective decisions using available information and established guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
