HR Generalist – Employee Relations & Payroll

About the role

The HR Generalist provides comprehensive human resources and personnel administration support for Carenet Health’s operations in El Salvador. The role ensures accurate employee records, smooth onboarding, payroll processing, and compliance with local labor regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and digitize employment contracts, personnel files, and employee documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
• Administer payroll inputs, including medical leave, vacation, deductions, and garnishment orders, and distribute payroll slips.
• Manage attendance, medical leave validation, vacation balances, and coordinate with supervisors on performance and behavioral concerns.
• Handle employee relations cases, conduct investigations, and provide guidance on disciplinary actions.
• Process resignations, terminations, and final settlements in compliance with legal requirements.
• Update government and statutory platforms (Ministry of Labor, ISSS, AFP, INCAF, FSV) and ensure ongoing legal compliance.
• Coordinate occupational health and safety initiatives and monitor workplace risk situations.
• Support office administration, facilities management, and employee well‑being activities such as recognition programs and event logistics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communication, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of El Salvador labor laws and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to manage employee relations cases, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Highly organized with strong problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience with HRIS platforms (preferred).
