Mercaderista

About the role

The Mercaderista will promote product sales across multiple distribution channels by offering tastings, samples, special promotions, and clear explanations of product benefits. Working directly with customers at points of sale, the role aims to influence purchase decisions and strengthen brand positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend products to customers, explaining benefits, features, storage, packaging, distribution, and contraindications.
• Execute all merchandising activities in retail locations to stimulate sales and build brand awareness.
• Conduct product demonstrations, tastings, and free sample distributions using persuasive dialogue and brand scripts.
• Handle promotional and advertising materials, as well as tasting equipment.
• Perform surveys, acceptance tests, and internal marketing activities to gather feedback and support product launches.
• Travel between points of sale and maintain constant direct contact with customers.

Required profile

• High school diploma (Diversificado/Bachiller).
• 0‑2 years of experience in similar merchandising or sales roles.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.

• Full‑time schedule: Tuesday‑Saturday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Sunday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.
