Mercaderista – Trade Marketing

About the role

The Mercaderista will promote the company’s products across various distribution channels by offering tastings, samples, special promotions, and clear explanations of product benefits. This role supports trade‑marketing objectives, helping to move products on shelves and influencing customer purchase decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend products to customers at points of sale, explaining benefits, features, storage, packaging, distribution, and contraindications.
• Execute merchandising activities in stores to stimulate sales and strengthen brand positioning.
• Conduct product demonstrations, tastings, and free‑sample distributions using persuasive dialogue and brand scripts.
• Handle promotional and advertising materials, as well as tasting equipment.
• Perform surveys, acceptance tests, and new‑product evaluations for the marketing department.
• Travel between retail locations, sometimes across cities, maintaining constant direct contact with clients.
• Work the schedule of Tuesday‑Saturday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm and Sunday 8:00 am‑12:00 pm.

Required profile

• High‑school diploma (Diversificado/Bachiller) or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in similar merchandising or trade‑marketing roles.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
