Night Housekeeper

About the role

The Night Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining high‑quality cleaning standards and ensuring smooth operation of housekeeping, room service, and laundry throughout the night on a cruise vessel. Working closely with the Chief Housekeeper, this role supports guest satisfaction and crew efficiency during overnight hours.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Housekeeper in overseeing all night‑time housekeeping activities.
• Patrol all vessel areas, identify issues, and follow up to maintain standards.
• Handle guest orders promptly and accurately.
• Update and review the Guest Recovery Log and nightly comment cards.
• Conduct random inspections of public areas, toilets, launderettes, and room service zones.
• Prepare daily handover reports for the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager.
• Maintain and update the Silver Compass system.
• Supervise scheduling, time‑and‑attendance sign‑ins, and staff records.
• Lead training sessions for night‑time butlers, utilities, and laundry teams.
• Prepare cruise reports, manage the complaint log, and liaise with HR on personnel matters.
• Ensure confidentiality, correct administrative procedures, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in night‑time housekeeping or similar hospitality environment.
• Strong supervisory and organizational abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and guest‑service focus.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with guests, crew, and management.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the Silver Compass housekeeping software.
• Experience using a Time and Attendance application.
• Knowledge of USPH and IPM logging procedures.
• Ability to maintain and update maintenance logs for equipment.
