Planner & Material Analyst – Supply Planning

About the role

Cygnus is looking for a Planner & Material Analyst to join its Planning/Purchasing team. The role ensures timely, sufficient and cost‑effective supply of blank garments, maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze customer demand and orders to determine blank‑garment requirements.
• Check inventory availability and calculate quantities needed for new orders.
• Create and manage purchase orders with suppliers.
• Track purchase orders, shipments and estimated arrival dates.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Warehouse and other departments to guarantee material availability.
• Maintain up‑to‑date item, SKU and supplier data in the ERP system.
• Perform inventory reconciliations and monitor discrepancies.
• Prepare reports on inventory, open orders, supply status and supplier performance.
• Analyze consumption trends and set appropriate safety‑stock levels.
• Identify potential stock‑out risks early and propose mitigation solutions.
• Maintain continuous communication with suppliers to ensure agreed dates and conditions are met.

Required profile

• Industrial Engineering degree.
• 1‑3 years of experience in purchasing, supply planning or inventory control.
• Preferably experience in the textile, screen‑printing or garment manufacturing sector.
• Strong numerical analysis ability and attention to detail.
• Organised, able to manage multiple orders and suppliers simultaneously.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, analytical formulas).
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles.
