Production Art Manager

About the role

The Production Art Manager leads the team of artists who create graphic art setups for apparel production, such as screen-printing separations, sublimation art, color approval swatches, digitized embroidery files and twill and laser cut files. The role also covers workflow improvement, reporting, team leadership and coordination with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the team of artists and recruit, hire and train them
• Manage the development and approval of the strike-off process before bulk production
• Provide technical support and guidance on embellishment methods and processes
• Help develop the Art department's goals, metrics, objectives and systems
• Develop, test and implement workflows that improve the speed and timeliness of order processing and production
• Prepare art-related statistical reports and other reports for management
• Take part in department head meetings, staff meetings and seminars, and conduct yearly performance appraisals
• Maintain an archive of digital art files organized by customer, program and season
• Ensure accurate, on-time delivery of art files and standardize materials and processes across facilities
• Work on the production floor and coordinate with customers

Required profile

• 5-7 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills; able to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Required skills

• Advanced computer software, including Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of apparel sales, manufacturing, screen printing, sublimation printing, transfer embellishment and sewing construction
• Munsell Test approved highly recommended
