Project Director TIP

About the role

The Project Director (PD) will provide strategic, technical, operational, financial and managerial leadership for a complex anti‑trafficking project in El Salvador. Reporting to the U.S. Department of State TIP Office and working closely with the U.S. Embassy, government agencies, consortium and implementing partners, the PD ensures high‑quality implementation and achievement of project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall strategic direction, technical guidance and management oversight for all project activities.
• Serve as primary liaison with the U.S. Department of State TIP Office, U.S. Embassy, Government of El Salvador and partners.
• Develop and implement annual work plans, MEL plans, risk management and adaptive management processes.
• Oversee budget management, financial compliance and contractual deliverables.
• Promote learning, knowledge management and dissemination of best practices.
• Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Strengthen coordination with government, justice, protection and civil‑society stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit high‑quality technical, financial and performance reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale anti‑trafficking or related development projects.
• Strong understanding of victim protection, justice‑sector engagement and institutional strengthening.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and navigate complex governmental contexts.
