Remote Interior Designer with Engineering Background

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Interior Designer who holds an engineering or technical background to produce accurate shop drawings for construction projects. This fully remote position works Monday‑Friday, 9 AM‑5 PM EST, and requires close collaboration with clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare precise light‑gauge steel shop drawings based on client plans and specifications.
• Review architectural, structural, and engineering drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Create, update, and modify shop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform material and quantity takeoffs with PlanSwift, Togal, or similar software.
• Identify discrepancies or missing information in project documents and communicate findings.
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation of revisions.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to clarify technical details.

Required profile

• Background in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
• Experience preparing shop drawings or construction documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering plans.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent English communication and ability to work independently.
