Security Operations Center (SOC) Specialist

About the role

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Specialist will monitor, analyze, and respond to security events across Grupo Unicomer’s IT environment. Working closely with the security team, the specialist ensures the protection of information assets and maintains operational continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze real‑time security alerts and events to identify patterns, assess impact, and classify incidents.
• Provide incident response support following established procedures to mitigate risk and restore normal operations.
• Configure, maintain, and update SOC security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, log monitors) to ensure effective threat detection.
• Conduct penetration testing and simulated attacks to uncover vulnerabilities and evaluate system resilience.
• Document incidents, root causes, actions taken, and outcomes for audit trails and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in security operations or a SOC environment.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Strong knowledge of current security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and log‑monitoring solutions.
• Advanced configuration and administration of operating systems and network security.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI‑DSS standards.
• Digital forensics, incident response, and threat‑pattern analysis.
• Practical ethical‑hacking techniques and malware analysis.
