Senior Accountant (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the accounting function for Avanza’s nearshore logistics staffing services. This full‑time remote position serves clients across Latin America and provides critical financial insight to support strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger entries, month‑end and year‑end close processes, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform accurate reconciliations of bank, payroll, intercompany, accounts payable, and accounts receivable balances.
• Monitor cash flow, oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, local tax regulations, and internal controls; support audit activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership and operations teams to deliver financial insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong background in core accounting functions, financial statement preparation, and month‑end close.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, and audit support.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, relevant tax rules, and internal control frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar certification is a plus.
• Prior experience in logistics, transportation, staffing, or professional services is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas).
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP software.
• Understanding of US GAAP accounting standards.
