Senior Data Engineer – LATAM Contract

About the role

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and operate data platforms that power OVG's Agentic Performance Management solutions for finance clients across LATAM. You will work remotely, collaborating with consultants and senior managers on multiple client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Ingest data from ERP systems, operational sources, and Excel files into Microsoft Fabric lakehouse and warehouse layers.
• Develop SQL and Python pipelines with built‑in validation to ensure data quality before reporting.
• Manage source control, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments across client environments.
• Configure environments, security, and access in partnership with client IT teams.
• Monitor production pipelines, respond to incidents, and support backup and disaster recovery.
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and effort estimates for projects.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience, preferably in a consulting or client‑facing role.
• Strong business acumen and curiosity about finance team operations.
• Excellent communication and documentation habits in English.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑moving startup environment with high drive and adaptability.

Required skills

• Experience with an enterprise data platform (Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric)
• Git and CI/CD for data pipelines
• Agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex
