Senior Insights Lead

About the role

The Insights Senior Lead acts as a strategic analytics partner for business leaders, turning challenges into data‑driven solutions. You will bridge business stakeholders with the Data & Analytics team to deliver scalable insights that accelerate decision‑making across Dollarcity.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the strategic bridge between business leaders and technical teams, including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and BI Developers.
• Lead discovery, definition, and translation of business needs into analytical requirements and actionable insights.
• Design and develop mock‑ups and Power BI dashboard prototypes to validate needs and speed development.
• Oversee the creation, improvement, and governance of Power BI dashboards and SQL‑based datasets.
• Partner with data engineers and scientists to build optimized datasets, analytical models, and solutions for tactical and strategic decisions.
• Conduct deep‑dive analyses to identify performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and clear business actions.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related roles, preferably in retail, FMCG, or logistics.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data insights to operational and strategic objectives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, translating technical concepts into clear business terms.
• Proactive, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• SQL (querying large datasets)
• Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and visualization best practices
• Python or R for advanced analytics (preferred)
• ETL processes and data governance
• Cloud data platforms such as Azure or Fabric
