Staff Software Engineer, Security Platform

About the role

Command|Link is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to own the end‑to‑end experience of its security platform. You will shape the API and UI that turn raw security telemetry into actionable insight for analysts, while driving the architecture that supports high‑volume, latency‑sensitive data streams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture and long‑term direction of the security product’s API and UI.
• Establish and enforce data contracts between the security product and alert, classification, and ingestion services.
• Integrate diverse security telemetry sources (syslog, NetFlow, SNMP, firewall logs, OpenTelemetry, EDR, MDR) into a consistent, analyst‑friendly model.
• Make cloud environments and audit trails a first‑class component of the platform.
• Surface enriched entities, alerts, and topology in formats used by security teams during investigations.
• Lead architectural decisions in ambiguous, cross‑functional areas and ensure durable outcomes.
• Set technical patterns and standards for the team and mentor engineers to raise production‑grade quality.

Required profile

• Proven production experience with high‑volume, latency‑sensitive infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed messaging/event streaming systems such as Kafka.
• Experience building search or indexing solutions at scale (e.g., OpenSearch) or equivalent technologies.
• Strong ability to reason across multiple data sources and translate them into reliable security context.
