Accountant - Digital Assets & Monthly Close (Remote)

About the role

Veta Virtual is hiring an Accountant for a high-growth fintech and cryptocurrency client, supporting digital asset accounting, monthly close and financial reporting for a global crypto kiosk network. The role sits within the Accounting and Finance team and focuses on cryptocurrency-related transactions, digital asset management and monthly close. Candidates must be based in Latin America or Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly rollforwards for BTC, ETH, LTC and other digital assets, ensuring accuracy and completeness of crypto holdings.
• Reconcile wallet balances to blockchain data and internal subledgers, cleaning up and validating wallet data and resolving exceptions.
• Perform fair market value calculations and remeasurements, and support position checks and proof-of-reserves-style reconciliations.
• Process and account for crypto donations, rewards and incentives, and record and reconcile hardware wallet activity including Trezor and cold storage.
• Post month-end journal entries, including balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis and variance explanations.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules, and help prepare reporting schedules and audit support packages.
• Develop spreadsheet reports, verify financial information and reconcile accounts.
• Analyze accounting policies and procedures, recommend improvements, contribute to SOPs and support cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience with journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain fundamentals; solid understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail and strong written and verbal English.
• Must be based in Latin America or Europe.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reconciliations and reporting.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP is strongly preferred.
• Bonus: Alteryx, Tableau or similar BI tools; multi-entity accounting exposure.
