Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (GCP)

About the role

Applaudo is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who builds, operates, scales and maintains infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will manage workloads autonomously, keep environments consistent and maintain a stable CI/CD pipeline, acting as the first line of troubleshooting in production. The position is offered as a 3-month assignment (possible extension) under a hybrid model of 3 to 4 days on site and 1 to 2 days remote, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Administer GKE (node pools and upgrades), Cloud Run, Compute Engine with MIGs and App Engine.
• Maintain versioned Terraform code, CI/CD with Cloud Build and images in Artifact Registry.
• Manage the Cloud Storage lifecycle and high availability across Cloud SQL, Spanner, Firestore or Memorystore.
• Administer VPCs, subnets, Load Balancing and Cloud NAT.
• Apply least privilege with IAM, Service Accounts and Workload Identity.
• Implement observability with Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring.
• Apply FinOps practices, including right-sizing, labeling and budgets.
• Ensure parity across environments and troubleshoot issues in production.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure or software development.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience running workloads on GCP.
• Autonomy and strong problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Working knowledge of English; Spanish is the primary language of communication within the project.
