Contador Junior – Sector Construcción

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support the accounting and financial control of a construction company, ensuring accurate recording, classification, and backup of all financial transactions. The role involves close collaboration with construction, purchasing, and administration teams to maintain project‑related accounting records.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain all accounting operations of the company.
• Prepare journal entries, provisions, reclassifications and adjustments.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate differences.
• Assist in monthly closing processes and preparation of financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, verifying invoices and supporting documents.
• Maintain cost and expense tracking for construction projects and cost centers.
• Support tax compliance, including preparation of required documentation.
• Coordinate with Construction, Purchasing and Administration to validate and reconcile financial information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, with minimum 1 year in construction, real‑estate or related sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in monthly closings, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational and detail‑oriented mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Salvadoran tax legislation (IVA, withholdings, etc.).
• Financial accounting and full accounting cycle.
• Bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
• Fixed‑asset management and journal entry preparation.
• Budget control and cost tracking.
