About the role

The Transportation Coordinator supports daily shipping operations, acting as the central point of contact between shippers, carriers, vendors and customers. The role ensures shipments are executed efficiently, pricing is optimized and carrier performance meets profitability and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate shipments with shippers, consignees, vendors, agents, carriers and customers.
• Negotiate transportation rates and obtain carrier pricing to meet profitability goals.
• Monitor shipment status, carrier performance and service quality.
• Manage documentation, customs clearances, delivery tracking, notifications, billing and invoicing.
• Develop cost‑control measures, resolve discrepancies and track profitability.
• Maintain CRM/contact records and support business development through customer outreach and quote generation.
• Collaborate with Sales to improve processes and identify growth opportunities.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Transportation or related field preferred.
• Up to 1 year of experience in transportation, dispatching, customer service or negotiations.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, analytical and organizational abilities.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; travel may be required.
• Knowledge of transportation, import/export processes and customs brokerage practices is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
