Country Representative – El Salvador

About the role

The IGNITE program, funded by Global Affairs Canada and delivered by catalysteplus, seeks a Country Representative to lead its activities in El Salvador. Based in San Salvador, you will be the primary in‑country point of contact, driving the implementation of the program’s strategy and fostering partnerships that support inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct stakeholder consultations to identify priorities, opportunities, and technical assistance needs aligned with program and donor objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with public institutions, regulatory bodies, private‑sector groups, development partners, Canadian missions and other relevant actors.
• Design and oversee assignments, ensuring they meet partner needs and contribute to measurable outcomes.
• Serve as the main liaison for local partners throughout the assignment cycle, managing communication, coordination and issue resolution.
• Support recruitment, deployment and logistical arrangements for catalysteplus Advisors and consultants.
• Provide guidance on work plans, ensuring alignment with program goals and local context.
• Assist with program activities in Panama and Cuba when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in program management or country representation within international development or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of institutional capacity building, trade and investment promotion, and inclusive growth frameworks.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with diverse public and private stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, multi‑country environment.
