Jr. Compliance Analyst - Financial Investigations Unit

About the role

Ria Money Transfer, a business segment of Euronet Worldwide, Inc., supports the Compliance Department within its Financial Investigations Unit (FIU). The Junior Analyst carries out due diligence reviews of consumers and agents, taking proactive measures to help minimize regulatory and reputational risk.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate possible suspicious activity by analysing transaction data, interviewing the people involved and documenting the findings.
• Research and analyse transaction data to evaluate the required KYC/AML information for clients.
• Validate the purpose and legitimacy of customer or agent transactions and flag unusual activity.
• Communicate clear actions to management for each agent or customer case.
• Provide detailed narrative documentation of due diligence and suspicious activity, and draft reports on suspected activity.
• Escalate issues to supervisors and recommend remediation and next steps.
• Interact frequently with customers and agents, including reviewing transactions in real time by phone during ongoing investigations.
• Keep investigation records organised and available for audit and regulator review.
• Support management and direct supervisors and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• University degree preferred, or high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of AML compliance-related experience.
• Knowledge of anti-money laundering compliance requirements for money service businesses.
• Excellent customer service, communication and written skills in English and Spanish.
• Strong research, analytical and attention-to-detail skills, and good organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and Pivot Tables.
• Aptitude for coaching, motivating and working with teams.
