About the role

NexPlace, a regulated digital‑asset exchange in El Salvador, is seeking a Compliance Officer to lead its AML/CFT, KYC and overall compliance program. You will work closely with regulators, financial institutions and internal teams to ensure the company meets all legal and regulatory requirements while supporting regional expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve AML/CFT, KYC and broader compliance frameworks.
• Monitor compliance with El Salvador’s Digital Assets Law, FATF recommendations and other applicable international standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, customer due‑diligence reviews, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and investigations of suspicious activity.
• Prepare and file regulatory reports and SARs with the appropriate authorities.
• Coordinate audits, examinations and compliance reviews conducted by regulators or third parties.
• Review contracts, corporate policies, regulatory filings and other legal documents.
• Serve as primary liaison for regulators, banks and strategic partners.
• Support business growth by ensuring regulatory readiness in new jurisdictions.
• Promote a culture of compliance, governance and risk awareness across the organization.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, AML/KYC, financial crime prevention, risk management or regulatory affairs.
• Experience in crypto, digital assets, fintech, banking or related financial services is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT requirements, due‑diligence processes, sanctions screening and risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish.
